Rejuvenation for the Old

Rejuvenation

Rejuvenation

In making an effort to notice my surroundings more and in general, to just be more present in the now, I paid attention on my walk today.  The picture above is a collage of the words I photographed on my short 1/2 mile walk and below is a poem of how I see them fitting together and what they said to me.

The old should never be old

Rejuvenate and refresh

A fresh look reimagined

You are in Dallas after all

Good thing for me, I was on a walk back from the gym where rejuvenation was the goal and a refreshed mind and attitude was accomplished.

Yay for ME!

side note:  The above collage was done in Enlight with pictures taken on my Canon camera.  Four pictures cropped, morphed and merged into one.  All done on my iPad Pro.

Canon Spy Features

The above picture was taken on my new Canon camera using the built-in WiFi feature, or spy feature, as I like to call it. Using the spy feature, you are able to connect it to a phone as the view finder and remote shutter release.

While my husband was driving the other day, after connecting my phone via WiFi, I sat the Canon camera on the dash with the lens facing us. Since it was connected, I was able to see on my phone screen what the camera saw.  I was then able to frame up a shot and take the picture all using my phone as a remote to the Canon.

That is a pretty nifty feature that could allow you quite a bit of room for creativity in your photography.  Depending on the noise level, you could totally take pictures without anyone in the room knowing. You could even have your camera set up and be viewing remotely in another room.

Using Shutter Remote

Using Shutter Remote

That picture was taken using an actual “shutter remote”.  This is also a pretty cool spy gadget.  The only draw back with this function is that you can’t see what the camera sees.  For this picture I put the camera on a trip-pod and framed up the area I wanted to photograph, then went to that area and used the remote to release the shutter.  Would be great for taking family group photos or even elaborate selfies.

The iPhone and iWatch combination can also be used in the spy games.  In the shot above, I positioned my phone in the area I wanted to take a picture then went into the other room. In the other room I opened up the camera app on my iWatch.  After it connected I could immediately see on the face of my watch what the camera on my phone was seeing. Pressing the the shutter button on the screen I took the picture. And in the picture below, I used the dial on the side of my watch to zoom in and then took the picture.

First Time Drawing

Sexy Face

Sexy Face

With this being the year of creativity, I decided to look for some pictures that I could use to practice copying and get the creative process flowing.  So I google searched easy drawings, decided on a few and got busy drawing. Keep in mind, I am no artist, nor do I claim to be. These obliviously aren’t master pieces, but solid for a first timer.  I drew all these pictures with my new toys using the Paper by FiftyThree application. Easy application to use and I love how responsive the iPad Pro is to the iPencil.  I had a blast and can’t wait to do more.

Really love how I can draw on my iPad and export it as a PGN file. No muss no fuss!  Easy Peasy!!

Fun Selfie Effects

Snap vs. Insta

Snap vs. Insta

When I use Snapchat, which is only about once a month, the only thing I do is take selfies with the photo effects. And I have fun but don’t normally save them, but today I decided to and see what I could do with them.  So I made a selfie collage.

Instagram Selfie Collage

Then I thought, I wonder if I can do something like this in Instagram, and if so, I wonder which is better.  Instagram is really the only social media I use at the moment, but I don’t really do anything but post pictures, so I started researching.  Sure enough, you can, so I made the below collage of selfies.

SnapChat wins, in my opinion, on the photo effect front.  They have more choices and the effects they have are way cooler. Either way, had a great time taking the pictures and making the collages in Enlight.

Also, I used Photoshop Mix to make the top graphic.  The graphic is nothing to write home about, but keep in mind I created it on my iPhone in about five minutes. The logos were screenshots of my home screen that I trimmed down and used as graphics.  It is a little more pixelated than I would have liked, but I was creating it while waiting to be seated at our favorite Mexican restaurant and didn’t have the time to perfect.  But keeping up the creativity in 2018!
